With extensive experience in commercial real estate development and a proven track record as an effective negotiator and collaborative decision-maker, Bill Ryan has a long history of civic involvement and a passion for community.
While Bill’s professional background has been primarily in banking and real estate, he brings a wealth of management skills to his work overseeing trustlands for the State of Colorado. He previously spent ten years with Trammell Crow Company, a national commercial real estate and development firm. As a Principal in the firm, he developed and acquired a wide variety of projects, including mixed use, transit oriented developments, office, industrial, retail and land. He was Managing Director with Devon Hill Ventures, a real estate investment, consulting and venture capital firm, and spent more than 12 years with commercial real estate divisions of several national banks.
Bill is currently Chair-Elect of the Board of Trustees of The Denver Foundation, a $500 million community foundation. He is also a Board Member of Downtown Denver, Inc., and part of the Development Committee for the Urban Land Conservancy, an organization committed to the preservation of real estate assets in urban areas to meet community needs. Bill was also a founding partner and past board chair of Social Venture Partners Denver, a venture philanthropy organization, and a prior board member with the Lowry Community Land Trust.
Bill and his wife Tamra live in Denver with their two children. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, skiing, mountain climbing and running.
